Meet Freya – Our New Recruitment Lead

Hello, I’m Freya and I’m new to H2R, having joined this week as Recruitment Lead! I’ve just returned from maternity leave (having had my second daughter in Sept 21). I’m excited to continue my recruitment career alongside the wonderful team here.

I bring with me an extremely varied background in recruitment and executive search. I’ve recruited in Bristol and the South-West as well as across the UK and oversees.

I actually worked in the Cayman Islands from 2014-2017 (as a sort of working sabbatical!). My work there involved recruiting for some extremely well-respected global businesses, mainly across the financial services industry. Initially, attracting candidates to the Caribbean wasn’t too tricky as everyone loved the idea of moving to an island paradise, but gaining candidates’ full commitment for a huge life-changing move was challenging at times!

It was a brilliant experience, and I learned a great deal about candidate management through head hunting from all over the world. I then brought that knowledge back with me to Bristol in 2017 and have since supported some wonderful clients (SMEs up to multi-nationals) locally and further afield in the UK with their recruitment needs, across finance and accountancy as well as HR, operations and senior management, and office support roles.

I have a real passion for what I do (and I know recruitment isn’t everyone’s passion!). I have also completed certificates in Recruitment and HR practice (CIPD).

I love to get to know each of my clients well and take pride in sourcing the right individual for their team, not only from a skillset and experience perspective but also in finding the right personality and team fit. I also enjoy supporting job seekers to find exactly what it is that they want and need as the next step in their careers.
It’s been a challenging few years for a lot of industries. Talent acquisition, recruitment and the job market in general has been hugely affected by the pandemic and candidates’ expectations of work life have changed too.

Without the right person managing it, the recruitment process can become extremely lengthy and disappointing.
